Ive have this dream. Im in a house. In the forest. With a girl my age. We are sitting on the floor. Looking out the window. Its night time. We kiss goodnight. The kiss tastes of oranges. Sweet and syrupy. Coating our lips. Suddenly we are running. Being chased by a robot who is tossing water balloons. But the balloons miss us. They hit the walls instead and burst open. Splashing orange soda everywhere. Then we are outside. Its raining. But its not rain water. Its orange soda again. We find shelter under the trees. Our eyes lock. We embrace. Then we kiss.

Thats when I usually wake up. The girl in the dream is Tammy. She was my best friend. We were seven at the time. Playing in her brothers tree house. A storm was brewing. Cheyenne called out for us. We pretended not to hear her. Cheyenne was Tammys sister. She was pretty. So were her friends.

They were there that night. Helping her watch us. Except they werent doing much watching. Until the storm came in. Then they came out. Made us come down. It was raining hard by then. We got wet. They dried us off. Wrapped us in blankets. Allowed us stay up with them.

But eventually it was time for bed. Except we didnt want to go. Tammy hid under her blanket. I hid under mine. The girls tried to strip them away from us. But we held on tight. Then I felt someone slide in with me. Under my blanket. On top of me. I felt her hot breath on my lips. It smelled of orange soda.

I know the room was filled with laughter. But my world went silent. It seemed like an eternity. Then she kissed me. A straight kiss. It felt funny. Her lips were firmer than Tammys. Not as squishy. She pulled away. Whispered against my ear. Asked me if I liked it. I whispered that I did.

Then she kissed me again. This time invading my mouth. I tasted orange soda. This kiss was longer. It took my breath away. Her mouth was huge. It covered mine completely. I felt her tongue on my lips. Licking them all over. Then penetrating my mouth. Brushing over my teeth. Dancing on my tongue.

Then it was over. I opened my eyes. The blanket was gone. So was my mystery kisser. Its been a mystery ever since. There were only four possibilities. It shouldnt have been difficult. But my eyes were closed the entire time. So I didnt get to see who it was.

I had the dream later that night. Ive been having it ever since. It comes up every so often. Reminding me of that special moment under the blanket.
